James Messinger, a Certified Executive Chef as confirmed by the American Culinary Federation, the proprietor of The Crazy Chefs, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Studies in Culinary Arts Management. Chef James received the CIA Service Award given at commencement and served as vice president of the ETA SIGMA DELTA International Hospitality Honor Society.
In 2001, Chef James borrowed $50 from his grandfather to place an ad for catering services in the local town PennySaver. James rented space from local civic groups as the calls came in until he earned the money to pay for his first commercial kitchen. James was the executive chef, sales manager, event manager, and head dishwasher! After years of quality work and gathering the best team in the industry, James and The Crazy Chefs Caterers purchased a large commercial building outfitted with a state-of-the-art culinary center and an event space/restaurant pleasing to the most discerning of clientele!
In 2003 Chef James was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by the Metro South Chamber of Commerce and Fleet Bank Business Services. This award is extra special for James as it is an award derived from his community service as well as growth in business. Chef James is completely dedicated to the hospitality industry and will see to it that your special event will exceed your expectations!
